Google is now the world’s most valuable brand
Having fought the battle of world dominance for a few yrs now with Apple, Google has finally come out tops and has been named the world’s most valuable brand.
According to Millward Brown’s annual BrandZ study, Google’s brand value is estimated at $158,843,000, compared to Apple’s $147,880,000. Released on Wednesday, the study contains some big names in the technology field. IBM came in third, followed by Microsoft, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Visa, AT&T, Marlboro. The top ten was rounded off by another tech, online giant, Amazon. Millward Brown is a global company, with a focus on brands, media and communications.
Social networking giant, Facebook however had a very big change in rank. Bumped 10 places, Facebook comes in on the list at number 21. While Samsung sees a move up, to number 29. A surprise appearance by LinkedIn, who comes in at number 78, with the estimated brand value pegged at $12,407,000
Using over 100 000 interviews from consumers worldwide, Millward Brown estimates the total value of the 100 most important brands in the world at $2.9 trillion.
